Sitting in the Fabulous Fox Theatre, listening to Tedeschi Trucks Band was like having a nice glass of wine after a hard day’s work. Tedeschi Trucks is an incredible twelve-piece ensemble; this allows their rich sound to consume all the air in the room. Fans popped out of their seats as they could feel the crescendo into beloved songs like “Hear My Dear” and “Anyhow.” It was incredibly relaxing and inspirational.

You can’t help but notice the sweet connection between Susan Tedeschi (a multi-Grammy-nominated blues singer/guitarist) and Derek Trucks (also a renowned blues guitarist, both as a solo artist and as a second generation member of the Allman Brothers Band) as they communicate through their music. Even though the show would have been perfectly satisfying only featuring these two blues powerhouses, the entire band shared the spotlight throughout the night. Each astonishingly talented musician had a moment to shine, making every second of their two-hour-long set worth sticking around for.  The drum duo drew the entire crowd’s attention, followed by a burst of cheering and applause, as they soloed in perfect synchronization. People even ran down the aisles to get to the bar and back as quickly as possible.

Tedeschi Trucks Band was an unforgettable experience that left me feeling grateful for the existence of such beautiful music. I will always find my way to a Tedeschi Trucks concert whenever I can. | Lucia Johnson
