The Record Company are about halfway through with their Roll With It 2024 tour and they made a long overdue stop at Delmar Hall last night to the massive delight of a huge crowd of very adoring fans. In fact, vocalist Chris Vos joked that their last few tours did not include a stop in St. Louis and they were like… Man, people are not gonna let us live this down if we don’t make a stop in the hometown of the blues!

This tight three-piece definitely made up for lost time and kicked into their groove quickly. They definitely have a feel, a moody and bluesy vibe that pulls a ton of rock and grit, and at times, a random Metallica riff played in your face with the intention of making it melt! And just when you notice that is happening, the song is pulled back into their own and you’re back in a melodic groove being patiently held down by bassist Alex Stiff and drummer Marc Cazorla. Yeah, that was pretty freaking cool.

The set list was close to 20 songs, with a really fantastic three-song acoustic breakdown mid-set which included “Talk to Me,” “Control My Heart Blues,” and “Paradise.” But these fellas are all about kick ass rock and roll, and that really shined through to me with “Life to Fix”—I feel like every single person in Delmar Hall was singing along to that. I love it when a song hits in the middle of the set, feels like an encore, and yet you still have half the show to go! Well done, fellas. Don’t be such strangers to our fair city, ok? | Laura Jerele
