Jerei is a St. Louis-based artist and storyteller, rooted in the vibrant culture of the “Soufside.” Known for blending authenticity with melodic rhythms, Jerei brings to life the stories and experiences that shaped his upbringing in South City. With a passion for community and creativity, Jerei’s music is a reflection of hometown pride, resilience, and ambition.
What brought you to this point in your life as a working St. Louis artist?
A genuine curiosity to see what I can actually do with music/rap if i took it seriously. Only been releasing music since 2019 & have accomplished a lot locally.
What inspires your music? What does this song in particular mean to you?
My music’s inspired by my life, as well as by my loved ones & the experiences I perceive. This song’s called “Big Werm,” a flip of my 2019 release of it. It was the first song that convinced me that I could really do this music shit.
Who in St. Louis are you inspired by right now?
I’d have to say Khiro Kano, he’s honestly my favorite artist in general right now.
What artists are you performing with lately?
I’ve been doing a lot of shows & pop up features with Khiro Kano and Michael Franco as of this year.
Where do you hope to be in 5 years?
Actually touring on the road, city to city, country to country.
