Highly suspect returns to St. Louis Thursday on the heels of their most recent album release As Above, So Below for an intimate night with fans. Vocalist and guitarist Johnny Stevens returned to social media after a hiatus to praise the band’s new record as the “album of a lifetime.”
The band dropped the first single from the album, titled “Summertime Voodoo” mid May, with two more singles releasing ahead of the full album, which came out July 19th on Roadrunner Records. Thursday, Highly Suspect will treat fans at Delmar Hall to each song from the album live. Tickets sold out quickly with resale climbing, a testament to a fan base eager to hear Stevens return to his early sound after spending several years toying with different genres.
Stevens is accompanied by brothers Rich and Ryan Meyer on bass and drums, respectfully. Formed in 2009, the band has remained consistent in their lineup, adding both Matt Kofos and Mark Schwartz on synth and guitar in 2019. Early fans of Highly Suspect who have missed the blues and soulful sound of their first albums won’t want to miss the set Thursday. | Colin Williams
