The band whose name you’d never google at work, Mannequin Pussy blasted into Delmar Hall with one of the best sets of the year. Touring in support of one of the most lauded albums of 2024—I Got Heaven, released last March on Epitaph—the Philadelphia quartet understood the assignment, firing off 9 of the album’s 10 tracks, a set of songs that refines the band’s pop sensibilities without dulling their righteous punk rock rage one bit.

Opening the show was Margaritas Podridas, a quartet based out of Hermosillo, Mexico, with a sound their bio describes as “cull[ed] from the distortion-laden songwriting of the grunge scene, the scuzz-coated pop of shoegaze, and the noisy sojourns of that decade’s college rock’s guitar icons.” The quartet was celebrating the release of their latest four-song maxi-single Mugre Morada, released the day of their Delmar Hall appearance via Hopeless Records.
