Once again, ZZ Top stopped into St. Louis on tour, this time at The Factory in Chesterfield. Opening the show and warming up the crowd was St. Louis natives The Band Feel, back from nine weeks on tour.
Then ZZ Top hit the stage with their literal glitter and glam to a roaring crowd. They kicked off with “Got Me Under Pressure” and hit all the fan favorites, including “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” and “Legs.” A little over halfway through their set, they took a break from rock to cover the Merle Travis country song “Sixteen Tons.” Their encore featured of “Brown Sugar” (not the Rolling Stones song, but the ZZ Top original, released on their very first album way back in 1971), “Tube Snake Boogie,” and ending on the classic “La Grange.” They have been coming to St. Louis for 50 years and at 70ish years old, they’ve still got it! | Matt Klose
