People familiar with my listening tastes know I’m a sucker for male falsetto. In addition to some of my favorite artists with new releases, Spotify introduced me to a lot of music this year, including many songs featuring falsetto. Below are the top 10 songs with falsetto that made me swoon in 2025.
- 5 Seconds of Summer: “Boyband” | In addition to a new genre-bending album (try it; you might like it!), 5SOS dropped perhaps the catchiest song of the year.
- VOILÀ: “At Second Thought” | I listened to a lot of VOILÀ in 2025, and I’ve come to adore Gus Ross’s voice: the range, the depth, the engagement…and the falsetto.
- Ed Sheeran: “Technicolour” | I haven’t listened to Ed Sheeran seriously in years, but Spotify’s been throwing me tracks from his new album, and I’m impressed.
- Matt Nathanson: “Something You Wanted” | Thoughtful lyrics from the familiar voice of an old friend.
- Snow Patrol: “The Forest Is the Path” | With a beautiful eighth album, Snow Patrol continues to engage fans with Gary Lightbody’s rich, yearning vocals.
- Haiden Henderson: “Sweet Tooth” | Beguiling blend of styles in a pop-R&B shell.
- half-alive, The Walters: “R.I.P.” | Perfect dance-pop with alternately understated and live-out-loud vocals.
- Presley Regier: “Apartment” | Young artist with a seductive voice and sound, and already plenty of music to catch up on.
- AJ Vitanza: “Blame Myself” | Pop music aficionados, this one will hook you.
- Olly Murs: “Knees Up” | Like 5SOS, Olly Murs has returned with a surprisingly diverse new album. This song? Think Madness.
Honorable mention:
Kyden: “Atmosphere” | I’m a longtime fan of this Australian singer with a soothing voice and thoughtful grooves.
