Houston – September 16, 2020 — After selling out its debut issue in 2019, hit series Butcher Queen returns to comic stores in September 2020. The original creative team of Jim Ousley and Ben Sawyer return to the adventures of anti-hero Syd Kiowa with another four issues of mind-bending science fiction and adventure. Butcher Queen: Planet of the Dead launches in stores in September in two covers by series artist Ben Sawyer and industry legend Tim Bradstreet.

Picking up two years after stopping the plans of the Overseers, Butcher Queen: Planet of the Dead finds Syd and her team of misfits coming into contact with a strange new alien life form, tasked with unravelling its connection to a series of global attacks from another dimension.

Red 5 will also be releasing a collection of the first Butcher Queen series in a 132 page trade paperback including not only all four issues of the initial series but the little seen first appearance of Syd Kiowa from The Dead Palace, as background sketches and designs from the creation of Red 5’s newest sci-fi heroine. Catch up with the adventures of Syd Kiowa in Butcher Queen Vol. 1 and then jump into Butcher Queen: Planet of the Dead.
