About this week’s artist:

Jenny Roques is a multi-instrumentalist musician and vocalist based in St. Louis, MO. Her versatility is expansive, from playing in groups that focus on classic country and Americana to her own style that blends the line into grunge, indie rock and synth pop with her most recent works. Songwriting and creative collaboration is an essential part of her life.

Most recent releases are the singles “Ebb & Flow” and “Spellbreaker,” 2021.

Vesta – The Demos was released in early 2020. A different approach, Jenny released these simple piano/vocal demos as an inside look into the songwriting process.

Following a tour in the fall of 2019, Roques’ newest material comes on the heels of having completed an artist residency in southern Arizona. The residency focused on working and writing near the southern US/Mexico border, embracing merging cultures and political atmospheres, as well as absorbing history and humanity to apply to her music. Then during the pandemic, Jenny went into the studio to create new works, analyze the work created during her time in residency and branch out to new sounds.

In other parts of her life, Jenny is a mom, a programmer and veteran of the St. Louis music scene, playing with many groups and projects over the last 20 years.
