About this week’s artist:
Joe Taylor is the frontman and songwriter of indie rock group Kid Scientist and music director of the experimental theater company Equally Represented Arts (ERA). With Kid Scientist, he’s performed alongside international artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Kishi Bashi, and Ben Kweller. Sporting a flair for the dramatic, Kid Scientist live stage shows often feature off-the-wall theatrics and themes, including multi-level marketing cults, smart technology expos, and television programming for plants.
Taylor’s latest release is a 25-track radio play called SHE, written by Nancy Bell and produced by ERA, that features dozens of musicians, actors, and collaborating artists. Currently, he’s scoring an original short film and producing Kid Scientist’s next record.
In addition to performing with the indie pop band Whoa Thunder, Taylor has scored and acted in close to a dozen works of theater, including Shakespeare in the Streets and starring as Faust in the original rock opera, Faust: go down with all the re$t.
