About this week’s artist:

Laka is a singer-songwriter who prides herself in performing a multitude of genres (jazz, blues, soul, rock, country). She recently released her third single, a country-folk song titled “Keep it to Myself,” written by Mike Lipel, and has an upcoming release of “St. Louis Blues.” Laka debuted her first cabaret show at the Blue Strawberry in October of 2020 titled The Music in Me, her life story through music, and went on to perform the show earlier this year in New York City at the venue Don’t Tell Mama. Laka continues to branch out with appearances in Las Vegas, Nashville, and Naples, Florida. While performing, Laka noticed that the life stories she told in between songs resonated with her audience on a deeper level, which led her to acting. She debuted in her first play in October, St. Louis Woman. The play with music honors the great music heritage of this city and the women who contributed immensely.
