Music At The Intersection invades Grand Center this weekend | 09.10-12.21

If you’re like me, you probably miss the days of PLAY:stl, the music festival run by this site’s predecessor PLAYBACK:stl in the late 2000s that saw 90+ bands, both local and from around the country, invade the Loop each year. The spirit of that festival is alive and well at Music At The Intersection, a brand new music festival taking over Grand Center this weekend. The festivities take place at a mix of indoor and outdoor venues surrounding the intersection of Grand Blvd. and Washington Ave., including the Fabulous Fox (527 N. Grand Blvd.), the Sheldon Concert Hall (3648 Washington Blvd.), Jazz St. Louis (3536 Washington Ave.), The Big Top (3401 Washington Ave.), the Grandel Theatre (3610 Grandel Square), and an open air tent outside of the Grandel sponsored by its neighbor The Dark Room. Headliners include jazz-funk pioneer Roy Ayers, Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Gregory Porter, and ‘90s R&B star Lalah Hathaway, alongside a plethora of local acts that run the gamut from hip-hop to jazz to rock to R&B. Passes for the full weekend run $160 for general admission or $300 for VIP; single day passes are also available as is an online streaming option for just $25. Tickets can be purchased through Metrotix. For the full daily schedule, see below | Jason Green
