We’re lucky to be one of the 12 cities on The Dandy Warhols’ upcoming tour to celebrate the release of their latest album, Rockmaker, the band’s 12th. Coming to Delmar Hall on March 16th (just one day after Rockmaker’s release courtesy of Sunset Blvd. Records), get ready to immerse yourself in a kaleidoscope of sound and style as only The Dandy Warhols can bring with their infectious and psychedelic vibes that can’t be pigeonholed into a single genre, so don’t even try.
Ahead of their upcoming LP’s release, I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of all 11 tracks, which find the band (singer/guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor, guitarist Peter Holmström, bassist/keyboardist Zia McCabe, and drummer Brent DeBoer) joined by the likes of Pixies leader Black Francis (“Danzig With Myself”) and Guns n’ Roses guitar god Slash (“I’d Like to Help You With Your Problem”). I got super lost in “Love Thyself” with all its fuzz-toned bass line glory. I’m hooked. And I’m really hoping they play that song along with the album’s closing track “I Will Never Stop Loving You,” which felt like a punch in the heart as much as it felt like a kiss goodnight. | Laura Jerele
