Formed in 2015 in Los Angeles, CA, Weathers is a fresh and vibrant indie/alternative rock band that will take the stage at Delmar Hall on April 22nd ahead of Meg Myers. The band received their first major break when their single “Happy Pills” was featured on KCAL’s 4:20 song of the day. The track peaked at #21 on Billboard Alternative Songs chart, with Weathers immediately receiving offers from record labels before signing on with RCA Records. The band released their debut EP Don’t You Feel Anything in 2015. The following year the group debuted their first studio album in two separate EPs: Kids In The Night Part 1, which included popular songs “I’m Not Okay”, and “1983”—a song inspired by Boyer’s car that broke down; and Kids In The Night Part 2—including songs “Shallow Water” and one of the bands favorite songs they’ve written, “Problems.” The two EPs ultimately became their first full length studio album in 2018.
Vocalist Cameron Boyer has always had a passion for music; He grew up playing piano and performing in the choir, and at the age thirteen taught himself to play guitar. Cycling in and out of junior high and high school bands, Boyer eventually met Weathers’ long-time bassist Brennan Bates. The two later added their current guitarist Cameron Olsen at a battle of the bands while performing in opposing groups. Boyer was impressed with Olsen’s original songs and guitar talent, and quickly recruited the musician following the show. The rest, as they say, is history.
The band released their second ten-track studio album Pillows and Therapy in 2021, which featured hit song “C’est la vie.” Earlier this year, the band released three singles—“ALL CAPS”, “She Hates Me”, and “Where do I Sign?”—from their upcoming album Are We Having Fun?, which will be available May 5th. Weathers has a unique, upbeat energy with punchy bass riffs and snappy snare patterns that syncs well with headliner Meg Myers’ style. For indie rock fans in St. Louis, Meg Myers featuring Weathers and Band of Silver is not a show you’ll want to miss. | Colin Williams
