Farewell tours are happening in abundance these days, and St. Louis showed Candlebox an amazing goodbye with an energetic and sold-out crowd at Delmar Hall on Sunday night. Lasting 30 years in the music business is no small feat and many fans in the crowd remembered seeing them on their many, earlier tours and certainly were not going to miss this farewell. (The band’s farewell album, The Long Goodbye, comes out on August 23rd from Round Hill Records.) A definite highlight of the show was an emotional audience, singing nearly every single word to “Far Behind.” All too fitting for this farewell tour.

Hard rock veterans Rubikon gave a phenomenal and heavy opening set. Their stage presence was as physical, full of groove, and as heavy as their music!

Opening the show was an up and coming youthful and vibrant alt rock act, Judah Haley. Backed by a very talented band, Judah gave a melodic and powerful performance complete in an old school Saint Louis Blues jersey. | Laura Jerele
