Hailing from Denver, Colorado, punk rock band Public Opinion left a lasting impression at their stopover in St. Louis. The show was held at arguably the best dive bar in the city, CBGB on south Grand. The five-piece band delivered a high energy set that spanned most of their catalog. They have released two singles in 2023, “Heaven Sent” and “Dry Clean Only,” but to really hone in on their sound, you have to listen to their 2022 EP, Modern Convenience.

Local support included pop punk act The Chandelier Swing and Squint, a melodic hardcore band. The two openers and promoter, IVTH Crusade Collective, rallied an enthusiastic crowd that showed what the St. Louis hardcore scene is all about. You can catch The Chandelier Swing and Squint sharing a bill again on Monday, April 3 at The Record Space at 7:00pm. | Holly Kite
