Introducing Dave Grelle and his new groundbreaking project, Playadors. The St. Louis keyboardist/songwriter/bandleader’s latest endeavor draws inspiration from a diverse array of genres, and is instantly becoming one of the area’s most in-demand bands. Grelle’s latest ensemble features some of the most talented musicians in the Midwest, captivating and mesmerizing audiences with their high energy performances and fresh sound.
Playadors’ carefully crafted sound pays homage to legendary funk pioneers, soul jazz and Latin dance music, ‘70s Afrobeat and contemporary hip hop and R&B, with the band’s own special twist. What is the song about?
The song is about shutting out all the outside noise, societal expectations, material things and turning in towards each other and living/loving in the moment.
What led you to creating music in the first place?
Parties in high school led me to the piano. I found it was a great way to meet people, lighten up the mood and have fun.
What makes your music unique?
Playadors is a group of some of the best musicians around. It started as a platform for me to feature some of the most talented artists I know, who also just happened to be some of my favorite people on the planet.
What’s next for you?
We’ve got two new singles in the verge of release with a full-length record coming in 2024.
