Ok, Brahms: The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra to perform Brahms X Radiohead | 02.24.24, Stifel Theatre

7:30pm | 1400 Market St. | All ages | $42 – $115

On February 24th, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra will perform one night only of Brahms X Radiohead, a skillful mashup of music that spans over 100 years. Conductor Steve Hackman has been touring his interpretations of both beloved composers for over a decade.

Not without some controversy, though.

Some see the pop-classical pairings as disrespectful to both Johannes Brahms and Radiohead, but those with a more whimsical approach to their music will find the mix of these classical and contemporary composers arresting.

Brahms’ First Symphony left a pronounced influence on the music of the time, as did Radiohead’s OK Computer album. Both are a little moody, pulling in tension from the times in which they were written, which are still poignant today. | Melissa Cynova
