Last year we may have lost Loufest, but the St. Louis summer festival scene still reigns supreme with the annual arrival of Twangfest, our town’s annual small yet mighty celebration of Americana music. Today, the “Twang Gang” announced the lineup of the festival’s 23rd iteration, which arrives June 5-8 at Off Broadway. As it has in recent years, the festival takes a fairly broad definition of “Americana,” with rootsier artists like James McMurtry and Sarah Shook alongside the country-tinged wall of sound of Wussy, the alt-rock power pop of Superchunk, and the Springsteenian punk of Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn and his band the Uptown Controllers. The full lineup is below; tickets for individual shows or the entire festival can be found at Twangfest.com. | Jason Green
