Tegan and Sara brought incredible harmonies, vitality, and a spot-on performance to the Pageant Wednesday night on their latest tour stop here in the Lou. Their energy was fun and nostalgic, and they even managed to keep the crowd engaged as they peppered new tracks into the setlist. (Gotta love it when an artist asks for kindness when new songs are played!) The crowd especially loved hearing personal tour stories as they shared tales about St. Louis and in particular, Delmar Boulevard and gig memories from the Pageant.
Artist Carlie Hanson opened the show as part of a duo, with bright vocals accompanied by a simple, acoustic guitar. Together, their youthful and spirited set managed to get the audience engaged enough to sing along to their song about—of all things—blueberry pancakes. | Laura Jerele
