Sunday was an unseasonably cool night in The Lou, but Whiskey Myers and Tedeschi Trucks Band brought the heat! The Tedeschi Trucks band took the stage before the sun went down as Grammy Award-nominated lead singer Susan Tedeschi’s soulful voice lit up the night, bringing the crowd to their feet multiple times with hits like “Don’t Let Me Slide,” “Take Me As I Am,” and “Keep On Growing.” The smooth sounds of the saxophone combined with the vibrant trumpet and Derek Trucks’ expert guitar skills made for a masterful rendition of their smash hit “Bound for Glory,” which led the crowd to a standing ovation.

Whiskey Myers, who has released six albums–with their seventh, Whomp Whack Thunder, set for release on September 26—made a grand entrance to the stage with “Gasoline,” a hit from their
2019 self-titled album, a Billboard #1 hit on their Top Country and Independent albums charts.

The mounting enthusiasm from the crowd continued as lead singer Cody Cannon and the band played some of their other megahits such as “Frogman” and “Bury My Bones,” both tributes to military service members, as Cannon was a member of the U.S. Naval Security himself for over ten years.

Whiskey Myers put on an absolutely astounding show, full of unbelievable energy that left fans vibing and wanting for more, as they look forward to the release of the new album and future shows. | Paul Liggett
