St. Louis filmmaker Brian McClelland’s Blip Blap Video is celebrating the kickoff of the third season of their weekly performance arts showcase series, Live from the Boom Room.
Boom Room artists, friends, and supporters will gather at 8:00pm on December 16th at Apotheosis on Cherokee for a screening of all of Season Two’s episodes, followed by a live performance on stage by artists including Beth Bombara, DDarius Bionic, Hal Pascale, Jenny Roques, StringzEMB, Po, Sean Kimble, and more.
Season Three will debut the following Monday with a special Hanukkah episode featuring Rabbi James Stone Goodman w/ Brothers Lazaroff, and will continue airing its 25 new weekly episodes both on the Blip Blap Video YouTube channel and right here on The Arts STL. Season Three artists will include Vanilla Beans, Anita Jackson & Will Buchanon, StringzEMB, Laka, Cree RIder, Riley B, Amber Skies, The Legendary Tiger Rider, Janet Evra, Spectator, Hillary Fitz, Joanna Serenko, Samantha Clemons, and many more.
Our first 50 episodes included performances from artists including Clownvis, Beth Bombara, Bruiser Queen, Steve Ewing, and the So Grand Polka Band. Chan Maurice Evans’ heartfelt episode has garnered over 106,000 views so far.
This year the Regional Arts Commission awarded McClelland with a $5000 grant to help fund the series and keep it in production and free for artists.
Live from the Boom Room started in October 2021 after McClelland was inspired to create a small-scale video performance platform, free of charge to artists, providing a diverse and genre-busting showcase of musical performing artists in the St. Louis region. The show is a one-man production, entirely produced in McClelland’s South City basement rehearsal/karaoke “Boom Room.”
