It was just over a year ago that John Legend last visited our fair city, with the Muny hosting a rare pop concert. The certified EGOT winner (yes, Legend has won three Emmys, 13 Grammys, an Oscar, and a Tony) was backed at that show by our very own St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
While it will be hard to outdo the unique nature of that one-off show, his visit to The Factory this week will be special in its own way: Legend and his crack backing band will perform his 2004 debut Get Lifted in its entirety. The “evening with” performance (meaning no opener, so get there early!) will also feature hits from throughout his career. Surprisingly, very few of the setlists from the Get Lifted 20th Anniversary Tour have found their way onto setlist.fm, but the few that have indicate a high likelihood that Legend will lend his inimitably smooth vocals to a number of crowd-pleasing R&B and hip-hop covers as well.
