On Tour: 314 Punk presents Belvedere | 08.27.23, Off Broadway

w/ Wes Hoffman and Friends, The Chandelier Swing, and Fight Back Mountain | 8:00pm | Off Broadway, 3509 Lemp Ave. | All ages | $16

For the first time in 20 years, Canadian skate punk band Belvedere is making their way to the states. The two-week tour kicks off Wednesday and local promoter, 314 Punk, is bringing the show to St. Louis this Sunday, August 27 at Off Broadway.

Known for their blazing fast speed and melodic vocals, Belvedere is going to bring the energy! Their latest release, Hindsight is the Sixth Sense, is full of crispy riffs and snappy hooks that will have you shouting along. The bill is stacked with support from local punk bands, Wes Hoffman and Friends, The Chandelier Swing, and Fight Back Mountain.

314 Punk’s founder, Wes Hoffman, is here to tell you why you should be at this show:

“I was very excited when I was approached by Belvedere to book them in St. Louis. When speaking with Belvedere frontman, Steve Rawles, he mentioned they have had great shows in St. Louis back in the day; they made it a point to come back through on this run. It’s so important that we support bands like this when they come through, so they’ll want to come back again in the future. When bands like Belvedere come through and have a good show, word spreads to similar bands, and hopefully they’ll want to stop in St. Louis at some point too.

It’s also important to support the local bands. Bands like mine (Wes Hoffman and Friends), depend heavily on shows like this to support our touring efforts. When people come out to our hometown shows, it gives us an opportunity to travel, and expand our audiences in the areas we tour. This then helps us grow the reputation of St. Louis being a great music town, enabling us to record and release more music, and continue to hit the road.

Off Broadway has been very welcoming to shows like this and we’re very grateful to have them host this show. They’ve become somewhat of a home base for Wes Hoffman and Friends, as we recorded our first music video there, and they hosted our EP release show and Punksgiving shows last year. The staff is always extremely accommodating and inviting. I’m happy to see more punk shows happening there.

When I started 314 Punk in the Spring of 2021, bringing bands like Belvedere was definitely in the vision of things I wanted to accomplish with it. Though my efforts in booking bands have been slowing down, I’m very excited to bring Belvedere to town and show them a good time.

The Chandelier Swing and Fight Back Mountain are two of the best local bands out there right now. If you’re into skate punk, pop punk, or just straight punk rock, this is a great show to get out to.”

Tickets are $16 and can be purchased here. | Holly Kite
