In this episode:

We visited Fufu n’ Sauce (8100 Page Ave.), a West African take-out restaurant by Adjo Honsou, winner of Season 3 of the PBS reality competition The Great American Recipe, and it instantly jumped to the top of my favorite new restaurants list. Honsou grew up in Togo but has made St. Louis her home since she was a teenager. About ten years ago, she started hosting monthly Togolese dinner parties for friends, and she quickly started accumulating new friends. When her invite list was pushing 150 people, she knew she needed to do something more with this. Now she’s celebrating her restaurant’s first anniversary in University City.

If you’re unfamiliar, fufu is a staple of West African food made with pounded plantains. It has a texture somewhere in between mashed potatoes and bread, and it’s an awesome sauce delivery system.

Highly recommend this place! Check out the new episode to hear a little about the history of Fufu n’ Sauce, everything we tried, and what we recommend.
