It will almost be worth it alone to see why fans of headliner Ice Nine Kills are so abrupt with TX2 being on this tour. Whatever the reason such a fandom of a band that celebrates the gore in horror movies and visually recreates them has a beef with someone who’ll do five songs at most is going to be is going to be ironic and hilarious to me. So in true INK spirit, they’ve now collaborated with TX2. I am ready for this.
Swedish metal vegans Avatar return to the STL area, where they’re always received to large crowds unexpectedly invited in (and joining) Avatar Country or selling out the shows they headline—this is the secret weapon on this tour. What they add is very much icing on a delicious cake of theatric metal and showmanship by the co-headliners.
In This Moment has never disappointed. Maria Brink and her band of monsters always give the energy and the metal delivered by the most powerful female vocalist I’ve ever heard. ITM is jam-packed touring in support of their latest release Godmode—the tour for that begins immediately, as the STL date is one of the final dates before this Kiss of Death tour wraps.
It has been a straight upwards trajectory for Ice Nine Kills for about five years straight now. They first started that by opening for Motionless in White on sell out tours. Releasing 2018’s The Silver Scream really gained a cult following as the really found their niche of marrying horror and metal. That created a great sequel in The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood and fans can’t get enough. The buzz around this band sparked ripples everywhere, leading them to appear at horror conventions, create their own horror convention, sell out virtually every show, tour, and merch drop, and, as if that weren’t enough, open worldwide for a little band called Metallica.
This tour is packed and tickets are super low and will sell out. Don’t miss your chance to see this epic line up coming to The Factory next week. | Diane Ruff
