Photo of Bowling for Soup’s Jaret Reddick by Matt Klose
Proceeded by opening acts Don’t Panic and classic favorite Wheatus, the house was roaring with teenage dirtbags ready to sing about a middle age mom’s love for 1985, and Bowling for Soup delivered that night. Kicking off the show with the one-two punch of “Almost” followed by “Trucker Hat.” Then singer/guitarist Jaret Reddick announced that this would be the earliest in a show he attendees would hear “1985,” the band’s biggest hit, and the third track on A Hangover You Don’t Deserve, as the band proceeded to play through their breakthrough album (celebrating its 20th anniversary) and then some to a roaring crowd.
BFS would continue select other songs to top off the evening. Reddick announced he never thought that he would still be on stage at age 52 playing songs about high school, then kicked off “High School Never Ends” from their 2006 album The Great Burrito Extortion Case. The band complimented their power trio sound with matching BFS jerseys. I will let the photos speak for the rest. | Matt Klose
