First, I must say: Shakey Graves brought just as much amazing energy as when I first saw him a few years ago, at this same venue! Alejandro Rose Garcia, a.k.a. Shakey Graves, came out to the stage with “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” and delivered the kind of performance that has made him a favorite among indie-folk and Americana fans. His live shows thrive on contrast—quiet, intimate storytelling with moments of peace/sing-a-longs and then foot-stomping, full-band energy the next. He performed a mix of his older music and then some off his new record Fondess, Etc. with songs like “Don’t Change a Thing” and his encore “No Place to Be.” It was the right place to feel like you belong. | Vertrell Yates
