On May 21, the Arkadin Cinema & Bar (5228 Gravois Ave.) will host a special documentary sure to appear to poseurs and dedicated sidewalk surfers alike. John Testa’s Across America follows Chad Caruso on a 57-day trek to cross America from coast to coast on skateboard. The Arkadin describes the film as “more than a skateboarding adventure—it’s a profoundly human exploration of resilience, self-discovery, and the universal quest for meaning.”

This special one-night-only screening is brought to you courtesy of the long-running Strange Brew film series. The screening includes a live, in-person Q&A with star Chad Caruso and a special showing of a second, vintage skateboarding documentary: 1987’s The Search for Animal Chin, which features the Bones Brigade crew that includes a young Tony Hawk as well as Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain and Tommy Guerrero.
The screening is Wednesday, May 21, at 7:00pm, and tickets are $10. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit ArkadinCinema.com. Watch a trailer for Across America below. | Jason Green
