As the lights dimmed, anticipation swept through The Pageant. The sold-out crowd packed the venue shoulder to shoulder, chanting “Slayyyter! Slayyyter! Slayyyter!” as they eagerly awaited her arrival. Moments later, bassist Jake Strate, drummer Mike Robson, and guitarist Austin Dalecorona took the stage, launching into the chest-thumping intro of “DANCE.”
The room burst into ear-splitting screams as Kirkwood native Catherine Grace Garner, better known as Slayyyter, took the stage. Returning to perform a three-night stint just miles from where she grew up, she was greeted by roaring applause and nonstop cheers from the hometown crowd, making it clear this was much more than just another stop on the WOR$T GIRL IN THE WORLD Tour.
Taking a moment to connect with the audience, Garner acknowledged the journey that brought her back to her hometown stage, telling the crowd, “I appreciate you guys sticking with me all this time. We finally got here, huh!” Later, she shared another personal moment, telling the audience, “I’m so sad this is our last night in St. Louis.”
The connection between Slayyyter and the crowd was impossible to miss. Fans sang along and danced to every song, and Garner never lost that connection with them, continually feeding off the energy in the room and giving it right back from the stage.
Dressed in short shorts, boots, and a St. Louis Cardinals shirt, Slayyyter fully embraced the show’s bold, larger-than-life distinctive style. Behind her, a dilapidated house stood as the centerpiece of the backdrop, surrounded by blood-smeared T-shirts hanging from clotheslines and a single weathered cross leaning against its walls. The visuals carried a deliberately trashy, campy-inspired edge—part gas-station grime, part pop spectacle—creating a world that felt chaotic, theatrical, and unmistakably Slayyyter.
At one point, Slayyyter broke into a full-on headbanging session, whipping her hair to the beat and bringing a raw physical intensity to the performance. During one track, her voice shifted into a deeper, guttural delivery, adding a surprising heaviness that showcased another side of her impressive vocal range.
As the night moved toward its conclusion, Garner slowed the tempo a bit and transitioned into “Brand New Chanel$,” shifting the energy into a more intimate moment. The track’s raw subject matter brought a different side to the performance, allowing Garner to trade the night’s high-energy spectacle for something more emotionally charged.
From the opening notes of “DANCE” to the emotional shift of “Brand New Chanel$,” Slayyyter owned the night. Her impressive vocal range, commanding stage presence, fearless visual style, and undeniable connection with a sold-out hometown crowd made for a performance that was equal parts explosive, theatrical, and personal.
