Daisy the Great delivered a strong opening performance for Tash Sultana on Tuesday, June 2, at The Pageant. Their set stripped things down to an intimate performance featuring just the two original members, Kelley Dugan and Mina Walker, playing as just a duo for the first time in years.
A highlight was engagement with the crowd to explaining their newfound interest in a vocal technique called “hocketing”—rap0idly passing vocals back and forth between the two singers. This led into their new cover of the Suzanne Vega song “Tom’s Diner,” to a big reaction from the crowd. | Karl Beck
