On the eve of Halloween, the Chaifetz Arena welcomed Nathaniel Rateliff to the stage. First though, Gregory Alan Isakov and his band warmed up the crowd, the lights low and moody to match his vibes. After a 45-minute set there was a break and then a taped intro featuring the song “Time Has Come Today” by the Chambers Brothers. At the end, the screens showed black and white images as Rateliff and his band the Night Sweats emerged to a warm golden glow that harkened back to a retro rock vibe. They kicked off with the horn-wailing tune “Look It Here” then “You Worry Me” and “I’m on Your Side” as they moved through their familiar hits. They would end the night with “Trying So Hard Not to Know.” | Matt Klose
