My second favorite little purple guy is back in St. Louis. (I really miss Prince, you guys). This guy is purple. A puppet as well. He’s a purple puppet. Adjust to the reality of Randy Feltface, a puppet comedian.
He’s also the most articulate and intellectually stimulating comedian I’ve seen in a while. Right up there with Hannah Gadsby, in fact. (If you don’t believe me, check out this interview we did with him back in 2022.) The throughline is not that they’re both from the same area-ish, but that they don’t dumb down their humor. They meet you where you are and let everyone in on the joke.
Speaking of crowdwork, you would be shocked at how good a puppet is at working the audience. It’s almost creepy. The man behind the puppet knows people very well. This is evident in his comedic timing and flawless execution of a hilarious purple puppet named Randy.
He’ll be in St. Louis, taking over the Helium Comedy Club for Memorial Day weekend. We all need a laugh. Get one from one of the best. | Melissa Cynova
